Whisky Ambassador certified venues

Nestled inside the old horse stables of Hullett House with views over the House’s white-stucco colonnades dating from 1881 and its sweeping lawns, Whisky@Stables is the perfect place to soak up the ambience of old Hong Kong and enjoy a good dram of Whisky.

The drinks menu is found on used whisky barrel board, offering over 100 whiskies from around the world, serving the world’s famous whiskies from Scotland, Japan, Taiwan, Sweden and India. Certified Whisky Ambassadors are trained to take guests through guided tastings. The intimate bar also boasts more than 10 whiskies from small batch independent bottlers to create a highly engaging experience for whisky appreciation. The culinary team has concocted a concise menu featuring tantalising, playful Whisky Bites and Whisky Sweets to delight guests’ non-whisky companions.

Walking up the staircases to Whisky@Stables is like stepping back in the Victorian era. With salvaged wooden panelling, vintage furnishings, and dark brown handmade chesterfield leather sofas and armchairs sourced from England, time seems to stand still there. The sumptuously bronze chandeliers swinging from the high-vaulted roof tiles and a 30-Litre oak barrel in the centre further exuded the tasteful interior, with the light-hearted vibe extending to an outside terrace for an ultimate relaxation.

Set in breathtaking scenery amidst the majestic mountains of Highland Perthshire, the Kenmore Hotel, Scotland’s oldest inn, and is a fantastic destination whether you are looking for sport or adventure activities, want to explore the magnificent countryside or simply relax.

Since opening in 2008, Artisan Restaurant has firmly established itself as a favourite for diners. Situated on Main Street, Wishaw, the restaurant features a lively atmosphere through the day and a relaxing environment in the evening, making it ideal of both family meals out and romantic meals.

Artisan Restaurant has an amazing collection of over 1300 whiskies. The extensive array includes everything to suit the connoisseur from the Highlands and Islands and Speyside to the Lowlands.

Artisan Restaurant offers a range of finely crafted menus, offering freshly cooked food with produce from local suppliers (where possible). Our menus featured a varied menu to suit all tastes, with gluten free options available upon request. The menus change every few weeks.

History
Central Station Glasgow was opened in 1879 and the Central Hotel came shortly after in 1883. Designed by architect Robert Rowand Anderson in the Queen Anne style, the hotel is a great example of this architectural approach with its picturesque details, intricate gables and multi-paned windows. Over the years, the hotel was extended and adapted but the main architecture was maintained.

Grand visitors
The Central Hotel took its place in history as the venue to which the world’s first long-distance television pictures were transmitted on 24 May 1927 by John Logie Baird.

Since then Central Hotel has entertained most of the world’s leading politicians, from JFK to Winston Churchill and Hollywood superstars including Laurel and Hardy and Frank Sinatra, not to mention Roy Rogers and his trusty Trigger!  It was reported that Trigger had a bigger suite than Roy Rogers!

The Future
Following a multi-million pound restoration to bring it back to its former glory, The Grand Central Hotel once again takes its place as Glasgow’s leading four-star hotel. Leisure and business guests alike can now experience the latest facilities in stylish surroundings and imagine a bygone era but where time certainly hasn’t stood still.
